I've got the 260meg drive, and it doesn't spin down at all for me. I've
used hdparm to tell it to spin down after a couple of minutes (I tried
various numbers) and it doesn't. I did the usual stuff like using
really large numbers for update and turning off things that hit the disk
a lot. Thoughts?
What pim software do you guys use? I learned to hate personaware (I
have a Psion 3a that I used to carry around, and the agenda on that is
great, and so far nothing I've tried compares) I'm currently using
xvtdl 5.2, which is ok, but difficult to use because you must constantly
navigate pulldown menus. I'm also using ical 2.1, which is ok, but not
perfect. Addressbook seems pretty decent, and has the advantage that
it's also tcl, so at least it can share the libraries with ical.
Has anyone tried making the cflash disk into a compressed bootdisk which
loads a bunch of stuff into a big ram disk? I'm thinking of trying this
so I can have minicom, pppd, lynx, etc available along with my pcmcia II
cellular modem.
Any other good tips?
