There ARE several linux "distribtions" that come in UMSDOS format with a
copy of LOADLIN. What you can do is, install one (there's one on sunsite
known as "mini-linux", and also there's "DragonLinux" at
http://www.lizard.org/dragonlinux/ ...) and then mount the install media,
where you can run setup from. You can then stick LILO on the 4MB CF, no
problem.

Also, don't try to put LILO on the superblock of a swap partition... it
messes up the "headers" so swapon thinks its a different size than which
it should be.
